Since the 2007 inception of Vancouver based Sex with Strangers the band has been gaining local, national and international attention with a mention in Spin Magazine naming them one of “7 Undiscovered Bands Worth a Listen to” and now as a Top 20 Finalist in the 2011 Peak Performance Project. I sat down with the contest finalist (Hatch Benedict and Isabelle Dunlop) before their recent Peak showcase at the Red Room to talk about their third full-length album Frontier Justice, Isabelle’s fashion line (see their upcoming Fashion and Music for Memories event below!) and of course the Peak Performance Project Contest.
Fashion and Music for Memories!
Sex with Strangers are excited to announce that they are hosting a very special fundraiser for the Alzheimer Society of BC called “Fashion & Music for Memories”.
This special evening will see designer and SWS vocalist Isabelle Dunlop launching her fall fashion line with a unique “pop-up shop” and fashion show at The Waldorf! The night will also feature special live performances from 2011 Peak Performance Project artists Sex With Strangers and Jasper Sloan Yip.
We’re keeping the festivities early for all of you working on Thursday!
Its a very special cause that has touched all of us in the band. Entrance is by donation, with all proceeds from the door going directly to the Alzheimer Society of BC.
Isabelle will also be graciously donating a portion of sales from her pop-up shop to this charity.
